Late last week I went to see the London premiere of Boogie… a movie by Radu Muntean.
What surprised me to see was the interest of the romanian public in London in Romanian film.
Have to admit that it was a very pleasant surprise to see the room full of romanians… either students or elder people… the kind of audience that seems to have a good taste in culture and doesn’t eat pumpkin seeds in the back of the cinema hall.

At the end of the screening we had 2 actors: Anamaria Marinica,Mimi Branescu (which I had the pleasure of congratulating over a cigarette) and Alexandru Baciu the screen writer.
The story is extremely familiar to any romanian… we have definitely witnessed our parents having a quarrel over dad’s party mood when he meets up with old friends…
All the funny language, very romanian and very our generation style…

The movie made me laugh and cry at the same time.
Laugh for our unique romanian way of making fun of non-hilarious situations… and cry to see again that nothing is forever…

Will let u see the movie and judge for yourselves…
It’s something that I would recommend.

PS: the fluocinolon business is actually not a bad idea 😉
